About This Quote

Emotional states change like the wind, and to indulge them only gives them more power over a person. This quote is quite true. When you are angry or bored or sad, it can be hard to think of anything else. But by trying to avoid these emotions, you can actually make them stronger.

Imagine being so angry at someone that you cannot see straight. You have all the right reasons to be mad but instead of doing something about it, you let it fester inside of you. You choose not to deal with it at all except it becomes stronger and more powerful than ever before.

This is what Nelson Mandela was talking about in this quote.
